Can you feel it? That wonderful feeling that only the festive season can instil in us? The family time spent decorating the Christmas tree, meals prepared for our loved ones, the joy and laughter of shared moments with friends and family and of course the decorations. Those gorgeous additions to our spaces that bring that feeling closer!

Most of us feel a little overwhelmed at this time of the year, with so much going on and so much still to do, isn’t it great to know that decorating gurus are there to assist us by creating seasonal pantones each year! These pantones are fantastic starting points when planning your Christmas spaces, whether personal or in your professional environments.

This year’s pantone range is a selection of warm neutrals with a red and two greens to accompany the base colours! This particular pantone is such a versatile one to work with as it allows elements of the pantone to work in almost any colour space. The possibilities are endless! Apply your pantone colours to your table scaping, decorating of mantle pieces or even feature arrangements in your chosen spaces.

There are no hard and fast rules, instead work with the pantone colours you love and create spaces that make your spaces feel festive!

Wreathes And Centrepieces

You can Africanise traditional Christmas elements like wreaths and centre pieces with our magnificent local flora. Proteas are the epitome of African beauty and will add sophistication to any project. Should you have chosen elements of the pantone that contains the red (warmer pantone), the Red Baron variety would be perfect and should you be working with the grey and greens of the pantone (cooler pantone), the White King Protea is an absolute beauty and naturally versatile. You then have the freedom to add any other Christmas elements to compliment the floral arrangement. Baubles, ribbons and pinecones are always popular choices.

One of the simplest and most cost-effective ways of incorporating your pantone choices into your table scaping is by adding splashes of colour through the element of napkins, side plates or even a simple runner down the centre of the table. Name places are always a lovely addition to any table and are a simple and effective way of introducing colour but also a very personal touch.

If you are lucky enough to have a fireplace, Christmas is the best time of year to bring it to life. Adorn the mantel with beautiful candles, ornaments and foliage to create festive features. The addition of fairy lights over the mantel will add a beautiful sparkle to your evenings. If you are stocking hangers and feel it is time to update your stockings or if you have decided to hang them for the first time, look into one of the latest trends of monochromatic stockings. It will add a touch of sophistication to your mantle area.
